hy "no fingers" Maggie, you may ask? Well, on holiday in Scotland I shared the back seat of the car with my young friend Sami and his toy gun. Sam, as he is known to family and close friends, decided that it would really be great fun to shoot off my fingers (and thumbs) one by one. Despite all my body's efforts to regenerate the fingers, Sam's determination was even greater and eventually my fingers refused to grow back again. The result is clear in the drawing on the right: I don't think it is right to put an actual photograph on the internet where anyone could see it. After all, you may be of a squeamish disposition. Needless to say I don't hold Sam responsible for the huge decline in my career prospects, even though I was a 120 wpm touch typist before the event: Sam was only 4 years old at the time. He did however think it was a great nickname to give his Aunty Maggie and so "no fingers maggie" was born at Easter 2004 in Glen Lochay. No doubt in due course a blue plaque will be erected to commemorate the event.
